We have winds blowing here and a little snow.  I’m not complaining though because there are places that received 43 inches of snow.  If they have the winds we have, they are snowed in at home.  I did get an e-mail from a mother who is staying in because of the winds.  She was looking for personalized baby gifts for her baby for the upcoming Thanksgiving.

With all indications it will probably be chilly to cold on Thanksgiving, so she is going with the monogrammed baby gift that is the ultimate sweatsuit.  She is going to put a neutral body suit under it so that the jacket can be taken off IF it does get warm.  She liked the idea that the sweatsuit was brown because her baby is crawling and she feels that it won’t show every bit of dirt he picks up on his knees as he crawls.

She is going with the monogrammed letter of his first name and is going with the blue trim.  She said she would send me a picture of the baby sweatsuit on her child when she receives it.

The Sweet One

I got an e-mail from a mother who recently had a little boy.  She constantly calls him a “sweet one” as he is such a good baby and she waited so long to have him.  She has friends that think calling him a “sweet one” is feminine sounding!  She saw that I had products called the Sweet Baby Boy Gift Baskets and asked if I would call a baby boy a “sweet one.”  I’m sure you can guess my answer.   Yes, of course, I WOULD and she SHOULD.

The Old Ball Game

personalized baby giftsWhen I grew up, baseball was “the great American pastime.”  Now, there are some very enthused by it and others not so much.  For all of you enthused by baseball and having a baby, do I have the unique personalized baby gifts for you!  This decoration is also very helpful as it teaches your child or children how to hang things up.  When my children were little, they had a small coat rack and always hung their coats and sweaters on it.  I’m sure that’s why they are so neat today.  :-)

How About Junior?

September 12, 2008 Author: BabyGifter

I was totally amazed at the amount of “Juniors” that are in families.  Just in my family, my brother and son-in-law are “Juniors.”  I read in the paper last night where the fourth “Louis” was born in a family.  I also noticed that the other three were called “Louie (the dad),” “Lou (the grandpa),” and “Louis (the great grandpa).”  I read where a psychologist said that he could predict, before a child was born, that the child was going to be called a “Junior.”  He didn’t say how he knew that, but he has been more than 90% correct on his guesses.  Anyway, I found the perfect baby boy gift baskets that are called “The Junior.”  Of course, as I am writing this, I am getting an order from someone who is not buying the basket for a “junior” but just likes the contents of the basket.

Football Anyone?

September 2, 2008 Author: BabyGifter

It’s that time of year again when the football season is on and there is a chill in the air.  Little ones enjoy being outdoors and seeing all of the colors and excitement.  They get in free at the games and a babysitter is not needed.

This roll neck sweater is perfect for the football games and can be given as a monogrammed baby gift, as a birthday gift, or as a seasonal gift.  I know one baby who is wearing this sweater in team colors with the team name monogrammed on the front!

While doing some reading I came across the statement, “We are designed to play all of our lives.”  ”Designed” is the key word here.  We start playing with our babies as soon as they are born and then they learn to play on their own.  As adults we play sports and continue with work-out exercises all of our lives.  Our bodies are designed for physical exercise and more research is showing that it is crucial to exercise all of our lives.

Baby girl gift baskets and baby boy gift baskets are a good start with play things.  They are perfect for shower gifts or for grandparent gifts.   The baby can play with these toys and then graduate to toys requiring more physical exercise as they get older.  They will be on their way to playing all of their lives!

We were mowing the lawn last night (We seem to do that a lot.) and we had to stop mowing to put on “bug spray.”  After that we were fine and the bites didn’t swell up too much.  When I came in, I had a flashback to when our boy was very young.  He was sitting in his sandbox playing and I was sitting in a lawn chair next to him.  His older sister was playing with him and started to yell, “Cutie doesn’t look cute any more!”

I looked at our son and couldn’t see his eyes.  They were swollen shut and his face was as round as a basketball.  He had gotten bitten by something and it caused an allergic reaction.  I don’t remember how we got to the doctor’s office or how fast I was going, but we got him there in time.  Everytime he is outside now, he uses an insect repellent.  We also make sure that we have it listed or tell others that he has this reaction.

There are products on the market now where the insect repellent is in a towelette.  The towelettes look like baby wipes and using them is so easy for babies, children, AND adults.  You still have to be careful not to get it in their eyes and to make sure that they aren’t allergic to the product, but the towelettes have been a lifesaver for us.  It would be a good idea to tuck in a package of the insect repellent towelettes with your baby gifts when you give the gifts in the spring or summer.

We’re Going to the Dogs!

baby bath robeMost of our friends who are having babies or have young children have dogs.  Most of them live in town so they have the dogs in their homes.  The babies and children in the home just adore the dogs and have a relationship with the dog that always amazes me.  The dogs play with the children, protect the children, and provide unconditional love.

Because of this, I set out to find a dog baby bath robe for a friend of ours.  The Cozy Wrap, that is a dog, is blue and was just what they wanted.  Of course, the Cozy Wrap also comes in a pink bear and an off-white lamb.

Laugh a lot, live long

Personalized Tote BagOne day when I was watching TV, I saw adults making a baby laugh and then the piece ended with them saying that laughter adds 8 years to your life.  Being in education I constantly see children who laugh easily and those who laugh very little, if any.

Toys and books that can be carried in a personalized tote bag are ways to make your child a happy and laughing child.  Attention to their face and making them laugh is the easiest way to make them happy.   Any personalized object, clothing, book, or toys makes them happy and laughing.

By the way, add years to your life by laughing!

Personalized baby gifts

I just got the pictures back from our trip with our children, their spouses, and their children (our grandchildren).  I am in the process of writing a thank you to each child and I’m enclosing the pictures that I feel they would like.  I have done this before and they very much appreciate it.  This helps me to personalize the thank you to them.

Personalized baby gifts can also have a picture with them.  In addition to the quality personalized baby gift a picture of the mom and/or dad when they were a baby could be included.  A picture of the couple either before or during the pregnancy could be tucked in the gift.  An old family picture could be included.  The options are endless.  It is a guarantee that they will love the personalized baby gift and the picture!
